BarTender upgrade case study

BACKGROUND

An electronic test instruments manufacturer was running a legacy version of BarTender Enterprise that was lacking key features and components to allow printer operators on the production floor an efficient, controlled method for instigating printing.  Their outdated methods allowed for too much end-user control on label design changes, affecting quality control, and the required print time data entry was time-consuming and ineffective.

SOLUTION

Each time a customer comes to us with a problem, we take the opportunity to review multiple solutions to ensure the one that is agreed upon is the one that enables the customer to gain the most out of their investment.  For this customer, BarTender’s latest Enterprise release was the best option.  It offered a revamped and retooled Print Portal component that provides a web-based, intuitive, and secure method for manufacturing floor operators to print finished goods labels with fewer steps while retaining quality assurance and security.

Pragmatyxs, Inc. BarTender Consultants installed and configured the latest Enterprise Edition of BarTender with Print Portal into test and production environments and assisted with the migration of artifacts from the legacy environment.

RESULTS

With the implementation of BarTender Enterprise Edition and Print Portal, this manufacturer was able to deploy a seamless method for finished goods labeling.  They reduced the amount of template rework and technical support by removing any dependency at the label operator end and vastly reduced the required BarTender software installation footprint.
