Major Medical Manufacturer
This Pragmatyxs customer is a $4.5 billion unit of a U.S.-based $60+ billion global healthcare products company. With some 5,500 employees, it operates 30 manufacturing facilities worldwide. Since its founding as the first commercial orthopedic manufacturer in the world, it has evolved to provide orthopedic and neurological product solutions from early intervention through joint replacement and spinal fusion.
Following more than a hundred years of growth driven by significant innovation and aggressive acquisition, this company found itself with more than 14 different product labeling solutions – some purchased off the shelf and some developed internally – as well as a wide variety of business-critical applications spanning 30 manufacturing locations worldwide. Their objective was to source an enterprise product labeling solution that would not only serve as the pan-organization standard, but that could work with the wide variety of business applications.
Major Surgical Equipment Manufacturer
This company develops and markets advanced medical devices for minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. As a subsidiary of a major global conglomerate, this organization operates professional medical education, surgical training, and manufacturing.
Medical device and products companies manufacturing and marketing worldwide are faced with the challenge of meeting an assortment of country-specific labeling formats, language requirements and compliance issues. Originally, to meet this challenge, this medical manufacturer created its own proprietary labeling solution that depended on an external translation service for conversion of label text into multiple languages in advance of the label production. With manufacturing operations worldwide the objective was to speed the process of achieving international label compliance, while eliminating the cost and inefficiency of supporting a non-standard in house solution.
Over the years, Pragmatyxs has provided a wide-range of services to Hexcel Structures including general IT consulting, wireless material management solutions and various web-based applications for supply chain and shop floor management.
To meet regulations and customer requirements, Hexcel is required to track and prove that materials are used within specific guidelines.
"Pragmatyxs is a great company to work with - they've helped us since we started working together in 1995, and I would recommend them to any small to medium sized business that is looking to supplement their existing IT staff and efforts."
-Dan Pappano, Controller
Pragmatyxs has engaged with Precor throughout the year, for several projects including wireless inventory control and the development of e-commerce and other web-based solutions to serve its end-user customers and dealers.
"Precor needed to update its inventory management tools and processes. Our inventory data was error-ridden and difficult to access in a timely fashion. With the help of Pragmatyxs, and the solution we've implemented, we now have real-time inventory management, and real-time insight into our inventory."
